We try to have fun at FoundID. But one thing we take very seriously is doing right by people, and a big part of that is respecting your privacy to the best of our ability. That means that we will not abuse or misuse the information you give us in any way. We won't sell or give your information to other companies or individuals. We won't load up your email with junk (just an occasional email from us) or call you with sales messages. In short, your information is in good hands.
We appreciate the trust you place in us. And we're committed to earning it in everything we do.
And now, a note from our lawyers...
Our Commitment to Privacy. To better protect your privacy we provide this policy explaining our online data and information practices and the choices you can make about the way we collect and use your data and information.
This policy applies to all information collected from or submitted to the Found ID, Inc. ("FoundID") website, located at www.foundid.com. In this policy, we sometimes refer to www.foundid.com as "our website" or "our site". Other FoundID sites may operate under their own privacy notices. Our website may contain links to other third party websites. FoundID is not responsible for the privacy practices or policies of such third party sites.
The Information We Collect. To conduct purchases we pass along your information to a third party for transactions. Found ID, Inc. never holds your credit card information. Your information is stored in a secure database with only a handful of trusted and vetted people who have access. We do collect information on our website to evaluate and enhance the user experience. This information is used in aggregate and the personal information you provide on our website is not part of our web site analytics and will only be used for our internal business purposes. We will occasionally send you an email about our services, promotions, etc. You have the option to unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
We do use session cookies, but not the sneaky kind. The Session information is stored in a cookie so that the web server knows who you are between page loads. This enhances your user experience.
Found ID, Inc. will not collect, use or disclose a customer's personal information without their consent, express or implied, except as required by law.
Our website is not set up automatically to collect personally-identifiable information when you visit our Web site. It may recognize your home server, but not your e-mail addresses. For example, we can tell which Internet service provider you use, but not the name, address or other personal information about you that would allow us to identify you on our Web site. This information is used only for internal purposes by our technical support staff.
In a few areas on our Web site, we may ask you to provide information that will enable us to verify whether you are entitled to access and use certain information, materials and services, or to enable us to enhance your site visit, to assist you with customer service or technical support issues, or to follow up with you after your visit. While participation by you is optional, failure to participate may mean that you cannot access and use certain information, materials and services.
We typically ask for just the basic information we need to provide our services: your name, e-mail address, phone number, address, product preference information, any applicable identification number or password that we may require, as well as other similar personal information that is needed to register or subscribe you to services or offers. We may also ask for additional information so we can provide you with access to and use of certain information, materials and services. For mailed materials, you will be able to "unsubscribe" to these mailings at any time. Here are some examples of places on our Web site that may require personal information:
Finders' Information. "Finders" (people who return lost or missing items) are essential to our FoundID service. We give Finders multiple methods to report a lost item and options to be contacted by our members. Finders can opt to be contacted by email, text, phone, or they can remain anonymous by sending the FoundID member a detailed message. To leave a message, Finders must utilize our website to send it to the applicable FoundID member.
Found ID, Inc. will not contact Finders in any marketing capacity. For the safety and security of our FoundID members, we hold each Finder's information for 30 days and then permanently purge it.
How We Use Information. We keep confidential the personal information you provide through our website and we use it to facilitate the exchange of lost or missing items. It also may be used to notify you of special offers, updated information and new products and services from FoundID or offers, never from third parties. Agents or contractors of FoundID who are given access to your personal information are obligated to keep the information confidential and not use it for any other purpose than to carry out the services they are performing for.
We will send you information about our various FoundID products and services we feel may be of interest to you. Only FoundID will send you these direct e-mailings. If you do not want to receive such mailings, simply tell us when you give us your personal information. Or, at any time you can easily opt-out of receiving further marketing from FoundID by contacting: firstname.lastname@example.org. You can always opt-out of receiving further marketing from FoundID at any time.
