Found ID, Inc. helps people recover things they have lost and allows people to return things they find using the Found ID Online Network. Members receive a unique seven-digit ID number and ways to label their items. For example, stickers and tags can be harmlessly affixed to items such as school books, laptops, cell phones or keys. These IDs display their unique Found ID and instructions on how to report a found item. Once the Finder enters the unique ID into Found ID's system, Found ID instantly sends the member an email and/or text with the Finder's contact info and/or message.
Found ID is not an insurance policy. We are not responsible for lost or found items, nor are we responsible in any way for the retrieval of items or incidents that occur surrounding a lost or found event. Your personal safety is solely your responsibility. Please read our Safety page for tips. Found ID, Inc. makes every effort to protect your privacy and safety by providing a unique identifier to affix on your personal belongings and giving those who find lost, missing or stolen items and our Members the choice on how they want to contact each other and the ability to remain anonymous.
Found ID requires a one-time fee to gain membership into our system. Memberships are valid as long as FoundID.com is operating as a business online. Found ID may at times white-label our service to other entities by putting their branding on our ID tags and stickers, but still use the Found ID framework to do the found reporting to our members. These entities buy Found ID memberships and gift them (i.e. as a premium, thank you, benefit, renewal gift). The recipients of the gift are full Found ID members and enjoy all the benefits of membership. They will be treated with the care and diligence we give all our members and are bound to these Terms of Use.
People who return lost items are essential to our Found ID service. We believe that people are good and if we can make it easier to be good, then so much the better. We give our "Finders" multiple methods to report a lost or missing item and options to be contacted by our members. Finders can opt to be contacted by email, text, phone, or they can remain anonymous by sending the Found ID member a detailed message. To leave a message Finders must utilize the web site to send it to the Found ID member.
Found ID, Inc. will not contact the Finders in any marketing capacity. We feel they already know that our system works and hope the experience entices them to join. For the safety and security of our Found ID members, Found ID, Inc. will hold the Finder's information for 30 days and then will purge it.

Found ID, Inc. expects all our users, both those who find missing items and members, to follow these simple principles:
Access and Registration. Certain sections of our site require you to register. If registration is required, you agree to provide accurate and complete registration information. It is your responsibility to inform Found ID of any changes to that information. If we discover that you have registered using partially or entirely false information, we may immediately terminate your access to and use of our website, or any products or services without notice. Each registration is for a single person only, unless specifically designated otherwise on the registration page. Found ID does not permit a) any other person to use the registered sections under your name; or b) access through a single name being made available to multiple users on a network. You are responsible for preventing such unauthorized use. If you believe there has been unauthorized use, you must notify Found ID immediately by emailing support@FoundID.com. By accessing or registering on our site, you agree that you are responsible for protecting your password from compromise, release or discovery by any unauthorized person. If your password has been compromised, you must change it immediately.
General Restrictions. You agree to use our information only for appropriate, legal purposes, and in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Additionally, you agree that our databases, materials and information may not be used to bother, stalk, harass, threaten or embarrass any individual. You may not use the service to look up or attempt to contact celebrities or other public persons, or to locate individuals for purposes other than to return lost or missing items. Information shall not be provided or resold to any other person or entity without our prior written consent in each instance. All use of our site can be tracked, and (as noted below) you consent to such tracking and to the provision of all information about your use of our site to law enforcement and others as may be useful to respond to allegations that our service or information has been misused. Found ID generally reserves the right to investigate complaints or reported violations of these terms and conditions and to take any action we deem appropriate including but not limited to reporting any suspected unlawful activity to law enforcement officials, regulators, or other third parties and disclosing any information necessary or appropriate to such persons or entities relating to user profiles, e-mail addresses, usage history, posted materials, IP addresses and traffic information.
Misuse. In the event that we believe that the site or any of our information or materials has been misused, we will contact relevant investigative and law enforcement agencies (as appropriate) and will provide them with all data needed to conduct an investigation. You consent to the provision of its information (including search key data) for such investigative purposes. You further agree to fully cooperate with all audits of our customers and our systems generally. Found ID systems and services may not be electronically accessed by automated programs or other data extraction systems without our prior written authorization. Found ID reserves the right to cancel or not offer its service to any user that it deems is inappropriately using its services.
Found ID, Inc. reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate your access to or use of all or part of this site, with or without notice at any time for any reason or no reason.
You acknowledge and agree that all content and materials available on this site, including without limitation all text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, and software, are protected by U.S. and international copyrights, trademarks, service marks, patents, trade secrets, or other proprietary rights and laws. Intellectual Property. Found ID's website and its products and services are the property of Found ID and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Found ID retains all title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to its website, products, services and features. You agree to abide by any copyright notice or other restriction contained in any individual information, software, or other material accessible through any of the same.

You declare you are the legal owners of any item or animal for which the ID tags and service are being purchased. Found ID does not condone nor will be held liable for the purchase and use of tags for items or animals not owned by the Found ID Member. Found ID is also not responsible or liable for any lost or stolen stickers that are misused by a third party.
If you don't complete the full registration process, Found ID cannot contact you if your items are lost and then found by a good Samaritan. (Don't be lazy!)
The Found ID member is solely responsible for keeping their contact information current and correct. (If you don't update your email address and phone number, we can't be held responsible for not being able to contact you.)
The internet is a fantastic place, but also a place where sometimes other parties aren't as darn nice as we are. Some people are sometimes downright malicious, mean, and plain old icky. Third party sites are not our responsibility. They are not under the control of Found ID, Inc. and you understand and agree that Found ID, Inc. is not and cannot be responsible for the accuracy, copyright compliance, legality, decency, or any other aspect of the content of such sites. These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and Found ID with respect to the general use of any Found ID products services, subject to any specialized agreements which you may be required to agree to, such as employment search products and services or enterprise products and services. Your use of Found ID products is also subject to our privacy policy. You also may be subject to additional terms and conditions that may apply when you use affiliate services, third-party content or third-party software. Found ID primarily uses email to communicate with its customers. All purchase receipts, confirmation notices, and welcome messages are delivered through electronic communications. Found ID may periodically communicate service and other suitable updates with its customers via email.
